Training of Caregivers

We equip student caregivers with skills for local and global job opportunities. Our students are awarded Certificate of Social Gerontology and Care. This is one of the most important trainings where students gain skills and hands-on experience. Our training follows a curriculum approved by the National Curriculum Development Center. Graduates are accredited by Uganda Vocational and Technical Assessment Board (UVTAB) and Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT).

Our training program includes:

Face-to-face

training by experienced Gerontologists, approved caregiver trainers, doctors, nurses, and visiting lecturers

Practical Skills

Developed in skills lab and hands-on training in elderly care homes, hospitals, and domiciliary care. International reciprocal visits to international care homes.

Online training

from accredited UK and US institutions

Community outreach

hospital placement, and befriending an older person

Graduates can work with The Aged Family Uganda, start their own care organisations, or find jobs locally or internationally.
